Solstice of Heroes has returned, and with it comes a selection of new weapons. This year-round, the latest addition to the Solstice of Heroes arsenal is a Void Bow called Fortunate Star. Here is how to get it, how good it is, and the god rolls you should look for.

How good is Fortunate Star

Fortunate Star is already a niche weapon due to it being a Bow. Bows are typically not favored among the community as they are pretty slow to add clear and don’t deal enough damage to warrant use for clearing out beefier orange and yellow bar enemies. However, Fortunate Star does have some tricks up its sleeve that may help it in the meta. Subclass-specific perks are always a win, and when the combo of Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds is present, it boosts the weapon’s viability massively.

Again, in PvP, Bows aren’t too hot, but perks like Opening Shot, Archer’s Gambit, and Hip-Fire Grip help this bow become more viable in the Crucible. With a combination of Hip-Fire Grip and Archer’s Gambit, you can get a true hip-fire bow or a more tried-and-true combo of Opening Shot and Archer’s Tempo, which may be more your fancy.

Overall, Fortunate Star suffers from being part of a weak archetype, but it does have some fun and exciting perks which help it out just a little bit.

Fortunate Stare Perks and God Rolls

The Fortunate Star void combat bow can roll with the following perks:

• Perk 1: Repulsor Brace, Air Trigger, Archer’s Tempo, Enlightened Action, Hip-Fire Grip, Successful Warm-Up, and Loose Change.
• Perk 2: Disruption Break, Destabilizing Rounds, Golden Tricorn, Kill Clip, Opening Shot, Precision Instrument, and Archer’s Gambit.
• Origin Trait: Dream Work, Veist Stinger.

Fortunate Star PvE god rolls

With a combination of Agile Bowstring, Compact Arrow Shaft, and Handling Masterwork, we can boost Fortunate Star to a smooth 100 handling that feels lovely to use.

We like the Void Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds combo for our perk combinations. Destabilizing Rounds provides some AoE through the volatile explosions, allowing it to clear out groups of enemies more efficiently than just firing the bow itself. However, if you aren’t interested in leaning fully into Void, Archer’s Tempo and Golden Tricorn are acceptable alternatives due to the draw speed from Archer’s Tempo and up to a 50% damage buff with Golden Tricorn.

Fortunate Star PvP god rolls

Agile Bowstring and Straight Fletching give us a good mix of Handling, Stability, and Accuracy. We also dip into Draw Time with our Draw Time Masterwork and Veist Stinger Origin Trait, which massively improves the feel of the weapon.

Hip-Fire Grip and Opening Shot are both very consistent additions to the weapon, making it feel much easier to use. Archer’s Tempo is a solid alternative to Hip-Fire Grip as it helps with our Draw Time, making the bow more consistent in duels.

How to get Fortunate Star

Fortunate Star can be found in Solstice of Heroes activities, as it is a weapon exclusive to the Solstice of Heroes event. Due to this, Fortunate Star will only be available during the Solstice of Heroes event, so if you don’t obtain it, you’ll have to wait until next year to get your hands on it.

The main way to farm for this weapon will be to complete the Bonfire Bash activity in the EAZ. This will grant you the best way to farm for this weapon, but there should be other objectives you can complete to obtain this bow. We cover allSolstice weapons here.
