My Demon Episode 15 Recap

This episode starts with Do-hee leading a mundane and boring life after Gu-won left. She is pretending to be fine, by immersing herself in her job, but everyone else around her can see her grief, especially her secretary. We also see that her case is being taken by her previous date, Kang-wook, who comically promises to do a great job for her. We also learned that Seok-min’s body is yet to be found. Other than that, we witnessed that Gu-won left his position again to his Bok-gyu, promising to come back after Do-hee met her happy ending without him.

We also see Gu-won having a heartfelt chat with Ga-young, and she accepts she does not regret the choices she made in her life. She also knows she will end up hurting others, as that is her nature, and it seems Gu-won felt relatable with her, in this matter.

On the other hand, Gu-won’s delinquent followers come to invite him to their restaurant’s inauguration but find him gone. This also shocks and saddens them, and they leave grief-stricken. Da-Jeong leads a very romantic time with Bok-gyu, but she feels sad that her boss cannot do the same with her husband. But Seok-hoon tries his best to fill the gap Gu-won created and make Do-hee as happy as possible.

We see how Gu-won is not actually gone, but rather, he appears only when Do-hee falls asleep. One day, when Do-hee returns from her office party drunk, she falls down and cuts herself. After that, she passes out on her sofa, and Gu-won takes her back to her bed and heals her leg. Do-hee thinks that it is her alter ego who is doing everything correctly after she falls asleep, but is also suspicious that Gu-won might not be entirely gone from her life.

Do-hee can only pretend to be fine for so long, and when everything becomes too unbearable, she visits Gu-won’s office and there, in his manual, finds their photographs. She becomes emotional, and this is witnessed by Bok-gyu. He then gives her Gu-won’s necklace, thinking that way, she might be able to remember her past self, and this whole thing can finally be over.

And Bok-gyu was right; Do-hee was able to remember her past life and how she died. She did not regret dying, but she did regret not being with the one man she loved in her final moments.

The next morning, Do-hee rushes to search for Gu-won, but when she is in the car, she gets kidnapped by Seok-min. Apparently, he did not die, and after he survived, he burned half of his face so that Gu-won could not find him. He then tortures Do-hee so that Gu-won can appear in front of him, and he can make both of them suffer. Gu-won does appear and almost kills Seok-min, but he is stopped by Do-hee, as she knows Gu-won will die if he harms a human.

Then again, Seok-min shoots Do-hee, due to which Gu-won finally snaps. But with a dying Do-hee in his arms, he tries to revive her by giving his life force to her as a last resort, and that works. This makes him burn away, making Do-hee devastated along with the fans.

My Demon Episode 15 Review

The second last episode was devastating, as we obviously did not get a good ending, but an extremely sad one. But honestly, I did feel this episode was a bit rushed and would have liked the last part to be explored a bit better. Even the part where Do-hee comes to life, and Gu-won dies happens without any explanation. But yes, this is another really well-made and entertaining episode that is preparing us for the ultimate ending. Hopefully, it will be a happy one.

The series is streaming on Netflix right now.
