It’s Memorial Day Weekend and that means it’s the official start of summer mentality! This summer, I’m on the hunt for mocktail recipes that I can enjoy with our guests!
You’ve been around long enough to know how much I love summer in general, but most especially I love entertaining in the summer. While schedules are difficult to coordinate, there’s always time for al fresco summer dinner parties and just casually having friends over for iced tea and nibbles or wine and inexpensive charcuterie!
CONTENTS
Honey Rhubarb Lemonade
A fun way to enjoy rhubarb that isn’t in a dessert! Rhubarb adds a delicious tartness and a beautiful color to this bright sip!
Orange Ginger Beer Sparkler
Think of this as a healthy twist on a mimosa. I just love ginger beer in any kind of drink. it’s the perfect tang. And you can even add ginger juice if you’re up to it.
Summer Mocktail Recipes
There are all kinds of mocktails. Some are on the easier level of a sparkling water mixed with juice. You can mix it up with infused simple syrups (an insanely easy mix of sugar, water, and a fruit or herb on the stove).
And if you really want to jazz your summer mocktails up, use a shrub. What is a shrub? A shrub is an infused vinegar and water concoction. Don’t run away. They actually add a depth of flavor to any drink (alcoholic or not).
One of my biggest struggles the last few months has been finding something to drink (besides water or coffee) that isn’t insanely sweet to me. Shrubs are the best way to take the sweetness down a level that isn’t watering down the drink! Here are two methods to make homemade shrubs!
Even if you aren’t pregnant or avoiding spirits, I love homemade mocktail recipes in the summer when you need something to drink during the day or in the heat that won’t dehydrate you!!!
Cantaloupe Lime Jalapeno Agua Fresca
Refreshing, slightly sweet, subtly spicy and a bit tart, this might just be the perfect summer drink (and what a tasty concoction to have missed for Cinco de Mayo this year)!
Frozen Lavender Lemonade
This lavender lemonade slushie is basically what my fancy pants dreams are made of. Of course you can make it just over ice too, which is easy (but still pretty fancy)!
Ginger Beer Hibiscus Mocktail
This mocktail sounds pretty much like all my favorite fruits in one. Imagine a strawberry limeade with ginger beer and passion fruit juice. YES PLEASE!!!!!!
Non-Alcoholic Green Apple Martini
I can’t be trusted with an martini glass, but at least if it’s non-alcoholic people will know it’s just the glass and not me! This virgin appletini is a fun way to look as though you’re enjoying the drink of the evening (but you’ll be fully functioning in the morning)!
Raspberry Watermelon Mocktail
This is one of my all time favorite drink recipes and it is so easy to make. Watermelon juice is topped with flavored sparkling water for a somehow deliciously complex treat you’ll crave every day this summer!
Virgin Mojito
A mojito drink that everyone around the table will be reaching for!!
Sparkling Ginger Pear Mocktail
I’m feeling pretty fancy with this non-alcoholic drink! It’s fresh rosemary and ginger infused simple syrup with pear nectar and ginger ale. But doesn’t that sound too delicious to pass up?!
Kiwi Spritzer
Ginger Beer Mocktail
A delicious and refreshing mix of cucumber juice, ginger beer, mint, and lime juice! You’ll be craving these everyday in warm weather!
