Toll House pan cookies

Yield: 35 bars

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Additional Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 12 ounces package Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F).
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  3. Beat butter, both sugars and vanilla in large mixer bowl.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  5. Gradually beat flour mixture into butter mixture.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Spread into greased 15- by 10- by 1-inch baking pan.
  8. Bake at 375 (F) for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Cool.
  10. Cut into thirty-five 2-inch squares.
