Everyone has their variation on the old Toll House recipe. I found this one to be delicious as a base for my tweaks. I doubled the recipe and then added heaps of semi-sweet morsels, coconut and pecan halves. My baking time was 20 min instead of the recommended 14 minutes. The cookies came out perfect and everyone I know loved them.

Same recipe that Toll House has been putting out for years with the exception of 25% less butter. Here's what we do to improve it for consistent results time after time. First thing, substitute the Crisco Butter flavored sticks for the butter and use 1 whole stick at room temperature (that is 1 cup of shortening). Before baking, slightly refrigerate the dough. These two steps make the cookies a bit taller when baked and not flatten out like a pancake. Of course, if you like your cookies to be as flat as roadkill, use the butter and do not refrigerate them. Taste will be the same.....

Add a little less brown sugar and use about half the bag of chocolate chips . I was kinda bummed with my results wouldn't recommend it .

I'm not sure if I underbaked these cookies, but I was disappointed in the way they looked and taster. I was expecting a bit more for an Ultimate cookie.

This recipe turns out perfectly every time. Our favorite variation is to reduce the flour by 1/4 cup and add I cup each of oatmeal and dried cherries. Soft, chewy, and full of chocolate!

Something went terribly wrong with mine ! They did not come out as crisp as i had imagined and i wonder if its Baking soda that is to be used or Baking powder ? The base id nice and golden brown but the top looks pale and whitish ! Just finished baking a batch and really dissapointed :-(

Perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. I doubled the recipe & upped the ante by using all organic ingredients with the exception of my favorite Ghirardelli chocolate chips. Yummy!

Needed a whole lot of cookies in very little time. Found this recipe, tweaked the Oatmeal-Raisin version slightly, and it worked perfectly. I used 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour for half of the all-purpose, and walnuts instead of raisins. I decreased the size to 1/2-tablespoon and cooked for only 6 minutes or so. Got eight dozen cookies instead of five. Everyone loved them!

These cookies are amazing! I add little white chocolate chips and toasted coconut shreds. I've used half the amount of butter and they still come out great. My husband loves them - they disappear at our house

Replace the butter with butter flavored Crisco and this is the same recipe I've been using since the late 80's (the recipe came from a BF Crisco pull out card in Southern Living!). After years of trying out other chocolate chip cookies in comparison to this one, everyone always prefers this one! It is really the best I've ever made or eaten!

AMAZING!!! I followed the recipe exactly, and added 1.5 cups chopped almonds. My husband is in love with these, haha I need to make sure he doesn't eat them all before I can give them to a friend for her birthday!! :) (Note: I dropped them by the tablespoonful and it made 4 dozen cookies, not 5)

These are hands down the best choc chip cookies! They don't spread out too much, which I LOVE. I made the peanut butter version, and I used a bag of 60% cacao bittersweet Guittard chips. Awesome and decadent!! Also, I baked for 15 mins....perfect

These cookies are amazing! They're great warm from the oven, but they're even better the next day. The texture is perfect (a perfect combination of crispy, chewy & soft), and the buttery hint with the loads of chocolate chips is just heavenly! I used a larger cookie scoop and got 24 big cookies. This will probably become my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe!

This is my new recipe for chocolate chip cookies! They are the best! My 8 year old loves making these and requests these. My mother-in-laws recipe is now going to the back of the book (and that used to be my favorite).

Tip: refrigerate overnight, gives flavors a chance to marinate and the cold batter entering the hot oven delivers a better texture cookie. Best chocolate chip cookie recipe I have found. I double the recipe, subsitute the butter for criso butter flavored sticks, scoop the finished dough into gallon size hefty zip lock freezer bag. This conforms to my fridge or freezer much better than a tub. When we want cookies, we just pull out the bag and bake what we want. Delicious.
